Centronians met early on June 10, 2019 as they head to Pagsanjan, Laguna for Operation Backpack, a school supplies distribution project for Sampaloc Elementary School in the same town .
Most would agree that we will forever be grateful to the school that started our dreams about our future. The Rotary Club of Sta. Rosa Centro headed by Champion President Cecile Gabatan, distributed eighty backpacks filled with school supplies for incoming Grade 1 students of Sampaloc Elementary School , the alma mater of Rotarian Spouse Ed Gabatan, a Civil Engineer and a native of Pagsanjan, Laguna. The donation was supported by CCT Constructors Corporation.
The Centronians were overwhelmed when they learned that the school prepared a program to welcome and thank them for the gifts. The kids’ parents were also there and a representative from their group acknowledged the project and welcomed the club. Their dance troupe did one interpretative dance and one modern dance to show their gratitude. The school’s principal Mrs. Estela Sardin and the faculty also coordinated with RC Sta. Rosa Centro prior to the visit. The club was joined by the Rotaract Club of Sta. Rosa Centro headed by President Ryan Tuazon, who gave the inspirational message.
It was indeed a good way to start a rotary year- to be able to connect with young students and inspire them to follow their dreams.
