On Friday morning, August 23, while in Aplaya Elementary School, a temporary shelter for victims of the floods brought by Habagat, a 22-year old mother of two, went into labour. Luckily for her, First Class President Doray Lucero, a midwife, was there distributing mats and blankets for the evacuees and helped her deliver the baby.
Not only did Pres. Doray helped deliver the baby, she also asked someone to pick-up medicines and vitamins for both the mother and the baby at her clinic and administered it to them. She is truly deserving of the Gawad Agham Special Award for Excellence in Clinical Care given to her by the National Assembly of Midwives. Truly a First Class President.
