It is always easy to feel emotions—but difficult to pen them down! Such as the emotion filled project of the five clubs of District 3820’s Area 1 Group 4, led by Assistant Governor Liza Pineda, and held on the day of the induction
ceremonies of the clubs’ incoming presidents and officers.

Called the Joint Gift-giving Project for Warrior Kids, the program aimed to provide
support and joy to incredible young warriors with congenital life-threatening conditions. I had the privilege of being a part of this gift-giving project and witness firsthand how touching and rewarding it is to help and get to know these
incredible Warrior Kids.

The Events Center on the 2nd floor of the Victory Mall in Balibago, Sta. Rosa, Laguna
was festive, gaily bedecked for a children’s party. Maya Padiernos, an events stylist and a past president of the Rotary Club of Sta. Rosa Centro, filled the space with balloons in red, blue, yellow, orange, and purple. There was a stage too, where gifts were strategically scattered, and tables with loot bags just waiting to be taken home.
And it was, indeed, a children’s party. The celebrants numbered 59, one less than
the original 60 children gathered by the Rotary Club of Sta. Rosa South. No. 60, the hosts were informed, had died, even before the party started.
