Rotary Showcase & Bibo Negosyo

July 4, 2023 – Jose Rizal Plaza in Calamba City

When District Governor William Delloro asked District 3820’s 156 Rotary clubs to present their current and potential RCCs (Rotary Community Corps for the Kick-Off
activity of Rotary Year 2023-24, the Rotary Club of Sta. Rosa Centro was ready.
For three years, it has been nurturing an urban gardening project in Bgy. Langkiwa, Biñan, and earmarking it to be developed into an RCC. The Kick-Off Day for Area 1 on July 4 at the Jose Rizal Plaza in Calamba City started at the crack of dawn. By 3:00am, Rtns.John and Joaquin joined Pres. Larry and Spouse Joy at Langkiwa to pick-up the urban gardeners and their produce. A booth at the venue still had to
be set up before the program starts.

The urban gardeners were already up and ready, too; they had already also gathered the vegetables from the other members to be sold at the Centro booth. According to K-PAP Pres. Laarni Ilagan, she did not sleep a wink due to excitement. Two
sleepless others went: Ate Grace and Ate Mary Ann. The day was soon transformed into a festive country fair, with the rest of the 39 RCC participants showing off their
wares as well. But Centro’s booth stood out among the rest and drew a line of shoppers, almost non-stop, who almost wiped out the K-PAP’s vegetables except for a few of the green leafy ones that wilted
under the punishing heat.
